Plant a Seed

I thought it would be fun to spend some family time planting tomato seeds. I love home-grown tomatoes and I knew the kids would have fun planting seeds in the dirt and watching them pop up. When I was a kid my dad loved to garden. He would plant rows and rows of tomato's, cucumber, melons, corn, carrots, and just about everything else. He would spend hours in the garden weeding and fertilizing the plants. It was my job to sit in the garden with a hose and move the water from one row to the next. I would take a salt shaker out with me and eat tomatos while I waited for the water. I have to admit, I hated watering the garden. I look back now at the example my dad set, and I can't wait until we have our own garden and I can have my kids come and plant, weed, and water it with me.

Visit To St George

Julia said she didn't want to swim. She started out just getting her feet wet. She ended up in Grandpa and Grandma's pool with her clothes on.

Denton loves to swim, but we are trying to get him to swim without so much gear on :-)

Grandpa Belt is teaching Julia how to draw circles with a protracter. So cute to watch them interact.
Grandma and Grandpa Coon have some beautiful roses this time of year.

A Couple Funnies

We are driving home from church and Denton says, "Repentance (Resurrection) is when you die and then come back to life. That's pretty fun, except for the dying part huh?"

The kids always try to run wild at Lowe's because it is such a big store. I got looking at something with Brandon, we turn around, and this is what we find. I'm just so glad it's new and not used :-)

Crazy Weekend

We went to St. George for the weekend. Saturday morning we all went to Chuck a Rama for lunch. We are a pretty loud bunch when we all get together! Later, we went to see Brandon's niece, Katelyn, get baptised. That was a really neat occasion. Katie is the oldest grandchild on Brandon's side.
Saturday evening, we went and visited my parents for a few hours. When we got back to Brandon's parents house, Jennifer, Cameron, and Brandon's dad were all ready to play cards. We stayed up playing cards and eating candy until 2am. It's been a long time since I felt young enough to stay up that late. Sad, I know, but we had a blast.
Sunday morning, we had a huge breakfast at the Bonewell's, then we went to visit my parents again. Denton loves helping grandma Coon make cookies and carrot juice. He won't eat any sort of vegetables, but my mom lets him put the carrots into the juicer. Then, he's all excited about drinking carrot juice. Crazy, I know.
Then, we went to Zack and Alisha's ward to see their baby, Matthew, be blessed. Baby blessings are so fun. After that, it was off to the Bonewell's to eat more food. We drove home that night and we were all in bed by 9am. We needed a vacation after that weekend. It's always fun to get together with family though.
